Today’s Shamrock Story we hear from Latoya from Connecticut!
“Shamrock Marathon weekend has been special to me and my family for many years now. I ran my marathon PR in 2018 there, which held until October 2023. Virginia Beach is a special place to me, fun & exciting, peaceful and serene all at the same time!
After last year’s Inaugural Ten Miler weekend where my oldest son ran exceptionally well, he decided on a new goal for 2024: to run a strong Boston Qualifying time for the 2025 race! Training for a sub three hour marathon is intense and challenging, especially while working 50-60 hours weekly! However, my kiddo met his goal, qualified for Boston and made us all extremely proud, to say the least!
For Shamrock 2024, I opted for the half marathon and was able to race with some of my training teammates that I had previously known online only. We had an amazing experience and left encouraged and ready to tackle future races for the season, including Boston!
As I said, Shamrock weekend is an amazing adventure, one of the many excellent races out on by J&A Racing, one that I look forward to EVERY year, and one that will always be on my calendar!”
