Come shell-ebrate Hampton, Virginia’s largest race weekend at the 2024 Crawlin’ Crab Race Weekend! With a Half Marathon, 5K and Kids 1K – there’s a distance for the whole family. Although hard to narrow it down, we snapped up the chance to brag on some of our favorite parts of the weekend.
#1. The Swag:
Race participants will be taking home real crab-tastic goodies this year! On top of the claw-some finisher medals and participant shirts, check out this pinch-perfect finisher swag!
5K:

#2. The Course:
Complete with a snappy, fast and flat course, scenic views and ample room for friends and family to cheer you on, it’s no wonder Runner’s World dubbed Crawlin’ Crab “a must run half marathon.” Half Marathoners will make their way through the charming, historic Downtown Hampton, passing through cheer zones, water and nuun stops, DJs, Crimson Thunder Drumline, popsicles and running along the Hampton Roads Harbor before hitting the finishing line near the Hampton Coliseum.
The Crawlin’ Crab 5K runners will take off from under the sails of the Hampton Roads Convention Center and enjoy running by the sites of Hampton, including Bluebird Gap Farm. You never know what animals will be there waiting to cheer you on!
#3. The Post-Race Party:
After you cross the finish line, head to the Coliseum Central Post Race Celebration on the Hampton Coliseum lawn! Cool off with soda, water, or for 21+ crowd, enjoy a Devil’s Backbone Vienna Lager, Magic Juicy IPA, Orange Smash, Michelob Ultra or Blake’s Cider. On Saturday, grab yourself a Panera bagel and on Sunday treat yourself to a Nothing Bundt Cakes Bundtini and a classic Uncrustable. DJ Joe Fu will be keeping the good vibes flowing on Saturday and KambooBox will be returning to the Crawlin’ Crab stage for the second year on Sunday. Sounds like a pretty perfect way to celebrate your race day victory!”
#4. Charity Partner:
Since J&A Racing’s inception of the J&A Racing Foundation in 2014, it has allocated hundreds of thousands of dollars to various local and national organizations and charities including Starting Strides.
Starting Strides provides scholarships to schools with economically disadvantaged communities to help eliminate the barriers that prevent students from running, like financial costs and transportation.
This October, Starting Strides will be providing 50 students from Aberdeen Elementary School in Hampton, each with a race entry, pair of shoes and transportation so they can participate in the Crawlin’ Crab 1K!
Consider donating to the J&A Racing Foundation and together, let’s bring 50 kids to Crawlin’ Crab Weekend presented by Bon Secours! https://bit.ly/3Tpwcyi
