Get ready for the ultimate summer sendoff at the Chartway VB10 Miler & 5K Race Weekend at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront! Enjoy a picture-worthy course with a stunning oceanside finish, topped off by a Labor Day Beach Party you won’t soon forget. It was tough to choose, but we’ve narrowed it down to the top five reasons to register!
#1. The Swag:
The colorful fish and beach-inspired designs on the finisher medals and participant shirts, all created by local Virginia Beach artist Onie Tonie Designs (read more about the artist and his inspiration HERE), are truly a crowd favorite. And check out all of these wave-making finisher goodies!
- VB 10 Miler Sunglasses (10 Miler)

- Branded Beach Beverage Holder (5K & 10 Miler)
#2. Beach Bum Challenge:
You may have some unique medals in your repertoire but we guarantee you don’t have one like this! If you completed any distance at the 2024 Yuengling Shamrock Weekend* (Yuengling Shamrock Marathon, Anthem Shamrock Half Marathon or TowneBank Shamrock 8K) AND are signed up for the Chartway VB10 Miler or 5K, once your cross the finish line you’ll also receive one of these booty-ful medals!
*Does not apply to kids’ races
**Quantities are limited so register soon to get yours!
#3. The Course:
A scenic course that takes you past the iconic sights of Virginia Beach, culminating in a finish on the Oceanfront Boardwalk. On the 10 miler course you’ll see King Neptune’s Statue, Ferris Wheel, Rudee Inlet, Virginia Aquarium, State Military Reservation and the historic pier.
In between all those picture-worthy views, you’ll pass cheer stops, music, the Chartway Promise Mile of Smiles, an Elvis impersonator, the Crimson Thunder Drum Line, Run Club Alley, popsicles and more!
#4. Labor Day Post Race Beach Party:
Of course, you can’t have a summer sendoff without a classic Labor Day Beach Party! Complete with music from DJ Joe Fu on Saturday and The Mashup on Sunday, post race noms (courtesy of Gourmet Gang and Nothing Bundt Cakes) and beer (from Kona Big Wave, Michelob Ultra and Bold Rock Cider) all on the sandy shores of Virginia Beach.
The most can’t miss post-race moment comes when Chartway Promise Foundation and J&A Racing take to the stage to “gift” a wish to a local child and their family facing medical hardship. This year one of the gifts will be presented on behalf of the Local Run Club Community, from the money collected during the community run raffle hosted earlier this summer.
#5. Training for Fall Race Season:
With the 10 Miler falling on Labor Day Weekend, it’s the perfect addition to your fall race season training—a true “Perfect 10.”
