About our Charity Partner | Tidewater Friends of Foster Care
Did you know that foster youth have the poorest educational outcomes of any group in the nation? It’s true, even children who are homeless have higher high school graduation rates… For kids involved in the foster care system, only about Half graduate high school and for those stuck in the system until they age out, only 1 in 4 will graduate or get a GED. It’s no wonder why 75% of kids aging out of the system end up homeless, incarcerated or on welfare by their 24th birthday. You can change this by helping Tidewater Friends of Foster Care provide one-on-one academic tutoring to kids in foster care. $2000 provides a full year of tutoring by a trained professional AND a laptop to ensure the tutoring keeps going even while the COVID-19 shutdowns persist. Let’s make a difference together!
