J&A Racing In The News
After 413 days, J&A Racing welcomes back live events.
After 413 days, J&A Racing welcomed runners back to the start line of a live event on January 30, 2021. A small field of 250 runners participated in the inaugural Sun Up to Sun Down Trail Race presented by Fruitive. While this event doesn’t compare to the thousands of runners typically welcomed to a race weekend in Virginia Beach, Virginia, it still provided the same sense of accomplishment to the ambitious few who tackled running a 5K every hour for 10 hours so they could earn the title of 50K finisher.

MSP Design Group Big Blue 5K Goes Virtual
"The MSP Design Group Big Blue 5K has become a cherished event, not only for the participants who get to experience running through the ODU campus, but also for our student-athletes and coaching staff who get to support and cheer them on. It is a highlight on our calendar every year, and we are so disappointed that we are not able to share this opportunity with everyone in person this spring,” said Jason Chandler, Old Dominion University. “Our coaches and student-athletes stand with our community in this uncertain time and look forward to joining everyone for the virtual run on April 25th, as we encourage everyone to stay active and healthy at home. We wish everyone a great virtual run and stay healthy and safe!"
Embracing Virtual Racing
“Whether you run, walk or simply get off the couch and move, we are here to do what we have always done. We want to bring the running community together while supporting a greater cause. If you miss races as much as we do, sign up for one of our virtual options to keep the spirit of racing going,” said Amy Frostick.
Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
The City of Virginia Beach has a lot to consider when making decisions including the Yuengling Shamrock Marathon Weekend. We respect their process, but we can not keep our runners waiting any longer. As a company of runners, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Yuengling Shamrock Marathon Weekend. This decision has been made out of concern for our runners, volunteers, spectators, and community. While this was a very tough decision, we believe it is the right one. Our top priority is always the health and safety of everyone involved in our events.
