On Saturday, April 25, 2020, over 2,500 participants were expected to attend the 7th annual MSP Design Group Big Blue 5K presented by Bon Secours. This annual event supports the Old Dominion Athletic Foundation (ODAF) and provides a donation to fund student-athlete scholarships. Due to the COVID-19 stay at home order, runners are being encouraged to run virtually from their home.
“The MSP Design Group Big Blue 5K has become a cherished event, not only for the participants who get to experience running through the ODU campus, but also for our student-athletes and coaching staff who get to support and cheer them on. It is a highlight on our calendar every year, and we are so disappointed that we are not able to share this opportunity with everyone in person this spring,” said Jason Chandler, Old Dominion University. “Our coaches and student-athletes stand with our community in this uncertain time and look forward to joining everyone for the virtual run on April 25th, as we encourage everyone to stay active and healthy at home. We wish everyone a great virtual run and stay healthy and safe!”
