At J&A Racing we think our races are the best. To prove we aren’t biased, we asked one of our runners to recap her experience on race day. Meet Melody — she ran her best race at the Chartway Norfolk Harbor Half Marathon by helping a friend achieve her goals.
There are two ways you can run the Wicked 10K. You can run it like every other race, in a tank and shorts and try to be a fast as you can be. Or, you can truly make it a fun run, and dress up in a costume. Personally, my favorite costumes to see are the group costumes, where their full range of mobility is prohibited. Not because I think I’ll be able to beat them (that is a bonus!), but because that is when creativity shines.
As you prep for your next race, one piece of the puzzle that tends to be overlooked is water stop etiquette. When you’re racing in larger events, the water stations can be overwhelming. Staff member, Ryan Conrad, breaks down his water stop tips.
J&A Racing Ambassador Shelley started running when she was 53. Since then she has completed 50 Half Marathons. We can’t think of anyone better to give tips to new runners who want to conquer their first race.
Ambassador, Katy Gaston, recaps her experience that the 2019 Crawlin’ Crab Half Marathon Weekend. As a Shell Yeah! Challenge participant she experienced it all!
While we’re enjoying the long summer days, time at the beach, and all those yummy cookouts, it can be very easy to put off planning for the fall. However, now is the time to start thinking about your fall race schedule. You’ll beat price increases and have time to nail down your training schedule if you go ahead and put a race on the calendar now.
The Yuengling Shamrock Marathon, known for its fast and flat course, scenic views, and enthusiastic finish line, has always been a runner’s top choice to qualify for the Boston Marathon. In an effort to aid participants who aim to qualify for the 2020 Boston Marathon, J&A Racing today announced new pace group times for the 2019 Yuengling Shamrock Marathon. The move comes following this year’s change in Boston qualifying standards for 2020 and beyond.
For many years runners have chosen the Yuengling Shamrock Marathon as their Boston qualifier course of choice. J&A Racing partners with the Running Etc. Pace Team to help runners achieve their goals at this world class race with a hometown feel. The 2019 Yuengling Shamrock Marathon pace groups will feature times from 3:00 to 4:50 to align with the new Boston Marathon qualifying times, which are faster than in years past.
