Join J&A Racing for Global Running Day on June 5, 2019, and make your miles matter! Global Running Day is a worldwide celebration of running that encourages everyone to get moving. It doesn’t matter how fast you run or how far you go—what’s important is that you take part. Take Part | J&A Racing Fun
Sign your kids up for an experience that will change their outlook on fitness. We have taken the best parts of summer and added-in fun fitness elements to make a camp experience your kids won’t forget. Thanks to our host, the Brock Environmental Center, campers will get to explore Pleasure House Point Nature Area, the Lynnhaven River, and the Chesapeake Bay.
Most teachers take the summer off, but not Tasha Hurst, English teacher at Ocean Lakes High School. A member of the Virginia Beach J&A Racing PR Crew and an active participant in our local fitness community, Ms. Hurst continued to teach her students through the summer by encouraging them to embrace a healthy lifestyle.

Murphy’s Irish Pub
On December 19th, Sedonia Triepel, a student at First Colonial High School, was involved in a serious car accident in Virginia Beach. She is an intelligent and creative young lady and an active member of the Legal Studies Academy. She runs Cross Country, rows with the Crew team, and vocalizes her passions through Debate and Forensics.
Let’s show Sedonia that the Hampton Roads running community is pulling for her, by coming together for a long run on the Yuengling Shamrock Marathon Weekend course.
There will be pace groups, water stops, a “special” mile honoring Sedonia and a guest appearance from the “Mayor of Running”, Bart Yasso! All levels welcome.
First Colonial High School will be accepting donations for Sedonia’s recovery at Murphy’s Irish Pub throughout the morning. 100% of the proceeds will go to Sedonia for medical expenses.
You can follow along with Sedonia’s recovery by visiting and posting your support through her Caring Bridge website: https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/sedoniatriepel/journal ”
The Yuengling Shamrock Marathon, known for its fast and flat course, scenic views, and enthusiastic finish line, has always been a runner’s top choice to qualify for the Boston Marathon. In an effort to aid participants who aim to qualify for the 2020 Boston Marathon, J&A Racing today announced new pace group times for the 2019 Yuengling Shamrock Marathon. The move comes following this year’s change in Boston qualifying standards for 2020 and beyond.
For many years runners have chosen the Yuengling Shamrock Marathon as their Boston qualifier course of choice. J&A Racing partners with the Running Etc. Pace Team to help runners achieve their goals at this world class race with a hometown feel. The 2019 Yuengling Shamrock Marathon pace groups will feature times from 3:00 to 4:50 to align with the new Boston Marathon qualifying times, which are faster than in years past.
2019 Yuengling Shamrock Marathon Pace Groups
“The Yuengling Shamrock Marathon is a great race to run if you’re hoping to toe the line at the Boston Marathon,” said Jerry Frostick, co-owner of J&A Racing. “Our goal is to make sure our races offer the best possible experience for participants of all abilities, and these updates to our pace teams will help our faster runners achieve their goals.”
Pace groups are also offered for participants of the Anthem Shamrock Half Marathon. Those pace group times range from 1:35 to 2:45.
The 47th annual Yuengling Shamrock Marathon Weekend will take place March 15-17, 2019 at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. For more information, visit shamrockmarathon.com.
